I'm New Here

What to Expect

We hope that we have the opportunity to have you join us at one of our worship services! We know that attending a service for the first time may be intimidating, and at CNC we make it our mission to "clear the way" for you to come to church. We want you to be able to experience your growing relationship with God through the encouraging messages, uplifting music, friendly people, and enjoyable atmosphere  that are a part of the CNC experience.  That said, we know that your first time at a church, any church, brings up some questions.

CNC is located at 58 Cumberbach St., between Rose Place and Grey Place, in Wyandanch.

If you drive to CNC, we have ample parking in our parking lot. The closest exit on the Southern State Parkway is Exit 36 (Straight Path- Wyandanch).

We are about 1.5 miles from the Wyandanch Station for Long Island RailRoad.

We do not have a dress code, so wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable. Some worship in jeans and sneakers, others worship in dresses and heels.  We don’t care what you wear because we don’t believe that Jesus cares what you wear.  And don’t worry- we don’t ask visitors to stand. But we hope you will introduce yourselves to us during or after the service.

Our Sunday service (in English) begins at 10:30 AM in the main sanctuary and lasts for approximately 90 minutes. Our Sunday service in Spanish begins at 4:30 PM. See our Weekly Service Times.

On Saturdays, children ages 3 to 11 gather together at CNC from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for Children's Clubhouse. As a “Sunday School” on a Saturday, Clubhouse provides our children the opportunity to gather together for music, crafts, bible study, fellowship, and lots of fun! We welcome children from all neighborhoods and backgrounds to join us as we learn about God and make new friends! For more information check out our Children's Ministry.

Yes we offer weekly bible study on Thursday live on Zoom. Click here for more information

Thank you for your desire to become an active member of the Community Nazarene Church family.

A person desiring membership at CNC must acknowledge that

  1. Jesus Christ is the only true savior, that
  2. He is Lord of life, and that
  3. The only way a person can have eternal life is through a personal relationship with Jesus, marked by repentance and faith.

The meaning of these acknowledgments and their practical application is discussed in-depth during our pre-baptism/pre-membership classes.

Romans 12:5 says “So we , who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.” Membership at CNC is taken seriously. Our goal is to help you move from inactive to involved, needer to leader, knowing to growing, spectator to participator. We are being built together as a spiritual house for the work of ministry.

Christian Baby Dedication is a ceremony in which believing parents, and their chosen Godparents, publicly recognize the child as a gift from God and agree to everything within their power to raise the child in a godly way, prayerfully until he or she can make a decision on his or her own to follow Jesus.

At CNC we extend our loving support to the parents by assisting them to “train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it” Proverbs 22:6. Our baby dedication ceremonies are held on the second Sunday of the month. Contact us at [email protected] for more information.

There were simply no unbaptized Christians in the New Testament church, except those who were being prepared for baptism.

Baptism symbolizes the miracle of God’s saving grace. It represents the washing away of our Sins --- dramatizes our death, burial, and resurrection with Christ. Baptism proclaims our “putting on Christ”, and symbolizes the baptism with the Holy Spirit.

At CNC, baptism is held several times throughout the year. We practice the administering of baptism by sprinkling, pouring, or immersion, according to the choice of the applicant. Each candidate is required to attend and complete four one (1)-hour classes on membership prior to baptism. Interested in membership? Contact us at [email protected].

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Thank you for considering having CNC be a part of your special, life-changing day!

Marriage is a sacred relationship between a man and a woman in which two become one flesh. The union of husband and wife in heart, body, and mind is intended by God for their mutual joy, for the help and comfort given to one another in prosperity and adversity, and when it is God’s will, for procreation.

Marriage is not to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly, but soberly, deliberately, and in reverent fear before God. The wedding ceremony should be a beautiful, spiritual and God-honoring experience for the bride, the groom, the families, and all who attend.

The couple planning to get married, is required to participate in at least 6–8 pre-marital sessions. To request further information, contact us at [email protected]
